All White Christian Party Concert 2010

Along the lines of good, positive music and phenomenal exhibitions of great Caribbean musical talents and performances, there can only be one word that suitable for what you are about to see and this word is Excitement. Why Excitement? because there is great reason for it and you will find out what the reason is while watching the webisodes below. Here in the Caribbean Island of Dominica, the people pride themselves in exciting events especially around the scope of positivity at its very best. One will never be let down when it comes down to Caribbean music but when it comes down to Christian music and concerts, most people think that it is just a simple event. Too many times we are given the notion that this theme of music does not contain the necessities for a successful concert and that I mean also having a great time. This is wrong in so many ways why? because one, this is the Caribbean we are talking about here and two, this is the island of good time.
Christians have a reason to be happy and a reason to shout out to God in pure harmony as the people come together in one accord. This right here is a party that you and your friends should all be a part of. Make no mistake though that what you are about to see is a party unlike any other. Under the guidelines of Christianity, Caribbean music is used to worship God. Different cultures have different ways in which they worship God but it is through the sincerity of their hearts God hears their worship. The bible say worship God in spirit and in truth and that means that we ought to worship God in the way that he gave us and this is what this party is all about. Under the name of 'All White Party', white signifying purity. We are not pure by our own actions because we are all sinners but through the blood of Jesus, we have been cleansed and our stains have been cleaned, so clean that it is whiter than snow.
The different talents contributed by their God given gifts in collaborative efforts with fashion is what you shall witness and this is just a taste of what went down on that night. It was a night to remember for everyone who was there. For those who missed, they missed out big time and I pray condolences on your behalf. Check out the highlights.

Wedding Bells ' Marriage Ceremony'

When love is in the air and a man finds a woman that he wants to spend the rest of his life wife, this is the next step that he should take. Marriage is sacred and should be held between a man and a woman who come under God for his blessings. Let us not be mistaken that marriage is indeed a leap into the unknown but with God at the fore front anything and everything is possible. I love marriages because it shows the level of commitment that a couple has for each other and the sacrifice that they are about to make is absolutely phenomenal. Marriage is a union between a husband and a wife becoming one so therefore there is no I any more thus you and I becoming one flesh. The great book states that what God has joined together let no man put asunder. Holy matrimony should never be taken lightly because this is a journey that should only start with wedding bells and end when death comes knocking. God forbid this happens to the couple here today and we do pray for fervently that they will live to say many, many years together.
This is the very first wedding recorded on and for BrBpTV and it shows that even though the world is changing the traditional form of marriage, its honor and sacredness is still kept by most. This is one of the members from BrBpTV who is getting married to the love of his life and what better way is there than we the crew being of tremendous support to him and his bride. Most people have the notion that marriage is some form of imprisonment while others view it as a lovely thing. I had the privilege of sitting down with Jerry the night before the big day and had a talk with him. All that was on his mind is for that day to be over so that he could finally call his bride his wife. He was so anxious to have her carry his name I wish that one day I will have that eagerness when my turn comes. No one is perfect. It is only when we learn to accept each others imperfections that we see each other perfectly. The couple seems to follow this principle because both know each others imperfections in and outs and accept it. Don't get the wrong message what needs to be fined tuned should fined tuned because they ought to work together to chisel out each other to create the right puzzle that fits perfectly into one. Most people think that after marriage takes place, it is smooth sailing from here on out. This is not true because it is then that you finally get to know and learn about each other. I've heard marriage couples that have been married for 10- 20 years and they say that they are still learning new things about each other. So this says that marriage is something that couples always need to be working on. One thing I know that can create an effective marriage is communication. Communication is key so when you find someone who is willing to spend the rest of their life with you make sure that you keep this in mind and learn to accept their flaws.

The wedding displayed today is one of those moments, when everything is perfect between the two imperfect beings. Love is in the air and a fantastic ceremony is held in their honor to show the world that marriage is in fact the next best thing that needs to be done. A hearty congratulations goes out to the bride and groom on their new journey forward together as one, Mr and Mrs. Gordon.

Logos Hope, the Floating Book Store in Dominica

PART ONE
Have you ever heard of a boat that actually floats on water?! Why sure you have!
The Caribbean is no stranger to Cruise Ships lines and other sea vessels that bring tourists, foreign goods and services into the countries, that aid in creating revenue for both sides(the ships' crew and the countrymen and women). However, have you ever heard of a floating library? Be honest, most of you have not and this is the main reason why we are here today. I, personally, have never heard of such a thing until it came to the shores of Dominica. The Floating Library that I am speaking of surely is not of a building, but that of boats that serves in the purpose of a library. In other words, they carry books and act like a book store or library. These boats travel the globe bringing literature materials to different countries in hope to expand the horizon of literacy, especially to regions that do not necessarily have easy access to it. These group of boats that I speak of, fall under the name of The Logos and they set out on different routes, at different times to sell books.

The staff on board the big boat completely comprises of voluntary workers who leave their jobs, families and homes to join up with, sometimes, complete strangers, who are all about the same mission statement- spreading literature. They not only love books, but also have something that is very much in common to each other and that is their love for Jesus Christ. They view traveling on the Logos Hope, as an opportunity to minister and to spread the love of God to people who may or may not have heard of the gospel of Jesus Christ. The Logos teams organizes different local events, such as concerts, movies, and so on both on board the ship as well as on land. They do this to further enhance a more interactive relationship with the local people by mingling, sharing and exchanging cultural backgrounds and understandings.
Every four years, one of the Logos ships travel to the Caribbean and this time around, they came to the beautiful Island of Dominica. That ship is called the Logos Hope. On board the ship, we were bombarded with a wide range of great book authors and a great variety in categories such as adventure books, history books, fictional and non-fictional books, and so forth. I mean every where you turned, there was something that you would find interesting in. Even though you were not a person that likes to read, there would be a book or two that would grab your attention. I am one of those persons who do not really fancy books but, I left with about four of them. :) My favorite part of the Logos Hope was the music section though. Yes, they also have a wide variety of music selections and genres there, especially under the gospel music section. Ranging from Hip Hop for all the hip-hop music lovers, to rock music and then down to R&B, Pop, and the list goes on.

If you do not realize this by now, the Logos hope is a Christian-boat book store that sheds light on Jesus Christ while at the same time bringing new forms of literature, including the bible, all over the world. The Logos Hope comes equipped with persons who have dedicated their lives and time to servitude and as they termed it, "Bring Hope to a dying world."
The Logos Hope docked in Roseau and on one of their nights there, they held a grand concert on the shores known as The Bay Front. The performances brought about by the Dominican people shared some light on the Dominican culture to the foreigners and likewise the Logos Hope crew shared their different cultural backgrounds with the locals. Share with us as we share with you the moments of the concert that was held in the video below.

PART TWO
The Continuation of the Logos Hope went in-depth with the performances and sharing of both the Caribbean people and the Logos Hope crew. Finding out what Logos Hope was all about and why individuals chose to volunteer to work on board the ship was very interesting and motivating. Sometimes, we tend to dedicate our lives to things that don't really worth much or hold much substance but there are times when people step out of their comfort zone to do the greater good for the human race and this is something worth dying for. They also try to assist different places by building houses or other infrastructures to aid persons who are in need of some assistance. An interview was also done with one of the managers of Logos Hope and the Mayor of Roseau on the preceding of the night.

Market Day with a Difference

Market day with a difference!!! One thing we know is that the creole culture festivities started out in the marketplace. When slaves fought and finally got their emancipation and independence in the Caribbean, they were able to buy and sell as everyone else in the market. Part of what made them unique was the way in which they dressed and carried themselves. They had a sense of pride for which they most definitely displayed to the public and for this cause these traditions stayed within the lights of what we call the Creole Season today. Market Day with a difference has the notion of just an ordinary market day but with a drastic twist involved. Persons, both buying and/or selling, brought back the sense of the wonder, color and dancing to the market place by also displaying that pride in creole wear and in cultural dance on that day.
Everyone was involved in Portsmouth; from the young ones to the older folks and in between all took part of this wondrous event. Keeping the creole culture alive is something that will always stem in the hearts of the Caribbean Island people of Dominica because the traditions are passed down to the up and coming generations. Let's take a look at what went down that day!!!

Creole in the Park Concert 2010

Talk about the time in the Caribbean where persons literally from all around the globe, which includes places like Pakistan, come together in one single location to enjoy the likes of music, culture and both local, regional and international artists. It is a glorious four-days experience which starts in the last week of October from Monday to Thursday. Usually around this time, thousands upon tens of thousands gather at the Botanical Gardens, especially in the late afternoons, to have a good time. The environment is conducive for everyone so that means anyone can go to Creole in the Park Concert. It is a time for family and/or friends and also for socialization where people get to mingle and meet new people who share the same interests of the Creole Season.
Creole in the Park is a joyous occasion and it is suited best for you based on what time you chose to go, what you chose to do, and who you chose to see. It's a social event celebrating the creole season and the likes of which can be only be seen in the Caribbean Island of Dominica. A few years a back the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air Crew took part in this festival and Alfonso Ribeiro a.k.a Carlton did his famous dance on stage!!!!
It was definitely a night to remember. This time around, performing on the last day of Creole in the Park is a special guest artist out of Jamaica with a really great message for the people. She goes by the name, Queen Ifrica and she stays true to her roots as she brought the reggae vibes to the stage.

Creole Culture Fashion Show at St. Gerald’s Hall

There is no doubt that there is always a new spin or new addition when it comes with the development and modernization of Culture during the Creole Season. Keep in mind that this is not a bad thing but the fact that modernization takes place sometimes we may tend to lose the real essence of our culture. However, this may not be the case, here seeing that the individuals are in theme with the creole season. What is that theme you may ask? That theme is simple; colours and seasonal type meals. As new things come in via each upcoming generation, there is no doubt about it that they will bring in their own way of demonstrating the culture of their ancestors. The Fashion show held here today, is one of the new things that has been applied to the Cultural experience of the modern day age. Style and class is demonstrated and it keeps with the understanding that when slaves were freed, they had a sense of pride about themselves seeing that they were then seen as equals. They wore colourful clothing in the market places where they sold their produce and wore straw hats as an accompany to their outfits and protection from the warm Caribbean sun. Fashion is a part of the new age in which we live and therefore models displayed a variety of different dress styles and creole wear to help promote the Cultural celebrations.
In addition to this a time of gathering involving the wonderful smell and taste of creole dishes were present for the partaking of the guests gathered. I was so glad to be there especially for this part of the event. :) A time of gathering and celebration of the creole season and a video clip of the Friday Night get away at Rituals during the Creole Celebrations, all in one. Have a look.

Titiri Festival FUN

When we think of Caribbean, Nature and Festival, we think of one place and one place only and that is Dominica. These three things go hand in hand and are the pinnacle of what the Caribbean Isle is truly all about. For persons living overseas, when they think of the Caribbean, they think of festivals, paradise and nice beaches. Well, you are in luck because this is exactly what we will be showing you here today. This is one of the many reasons why the Caribbean is so popular and sort out from around the world. Its uniqueness in festivals also differs vastly from other festivals across the globe and one thing that makes it unique, is its people. Wherever Caribbean people are situated, there is that feel of the Caribbean Culture in the environment of which they are a part of especially when it comes down to festivals. It is said that, it is easy to locate a Caribbean person, at a party, based on how they move and that is very true because we can actually dance! :D

Festivals in the Caribbean range in variations to each and every Caribbean Island and that is influenced by its people and the values in each and every culture. One of the festival that takes place in the Caribbean Island of Dominica on the beach is none other than the Titiri Festival. It is one of the many festivals that is highlighted and this time we are in the community of Layou where it is usually held. It is all about the Titiri. For those who do not know, Titiri is actually small fishes that are usually found in groups known as schools. Like that of any normal fish, persons catch these fishes and use them as food. The creativity of the use of this fishes is why this festival is so important to the people. Why? because you get some really delicious delectables for a small price -Titiri cakes, Titiri ackra, Titiri pudding, Titiri lasagna, Titiri pizza and lots more meals and tasty dishes. These are just some of what I've tasted and let me tell you, they are absolutely phenomenal to the taste buds. Wow! Trust me, everyone wants Titiri and you can tell by the vast amount of people at the event. It's like magic all over again. Believe me the eats are indeed scrumptious let not your heart be despondence. Along the eats, the atmosphere surrounding the Titiri is that of fun and excitement with the riding of ATVs, bikes, Zip-lining, Kayaking,Sports and of course Music. Who knew there could be so much fun surrounding tiny creatures? In the night time, there are live bands playing on a stage created on the beach and everyone comes together to live in the excitement of the time to enjoy good Dominican music. Why is Titiri so important one may ask? Well... have a good look and see.

Rabbit Festival Activities

Rabbit Festival? hmm... We have heard of all kinds of delicacies across the Caribbean Region and the world but Rabbit delicacies? Well, maybe you have heard of such but I have not so it is only adamant that I go to find out what this is all about. Personally, I think of rabbits as pets that make little baby rabbits that look like cute fur balls. Thank God they're not making a meal out of these little guys so they have a chance to live their lives to the fullest. ;) I'm just saying. Anyway, people like to eat and anything that tastes good is good enough for me. Some may deny their rights to eat because they feel that others will call them names but I know deep in their heart of hearts, they too love to eat and I am speaking of some of the people you will see in this episode. :) Food is delicious and there is always the need to try new things instead of the usual all the time and this is why people try out different styles of meat and vegetation. I try to do the same... sometimes.
Here today, the meals that are on display comes from Rabbit meat. Yes, it is strictly about the rabbits and the atmosphere surrounding rabbits. Rabbit meat is a delicacy in the Caribbean, especially in the Island of Dominica and I must admit I did not know this until now. Sad? Yes I know. We have Rabbits being the point of many dishes like the rabbit stew, fried rabbit, boiled rabbit, rabbit water, rabbit soup and the list of tasty rabbit food goes on.
Like that of the Chinese, when it comes to rice, they create all sorts of different dishes with it and this is the same format applied today. The food also looks great and smells great too so I will surely be trying out one of these dishes as well. It is not only about eating but also a socializing event with lots of games, fun, dancing, prize winning, music and even rabbit races. Let's take a look at this Rabbit Festival. Enjoy.

Exploring the Nature Isle of the Caribbean

Part 1

The Caribbean Islands are filled with many different styles and classes that makes each of them uniquely divided from each other. For example St. Vincent and Grenada are known for their richness in spice and nutmeg and upon my last visit, the water too tasted a tad bit spicy... honestly. In Barbados, they are known for their flying fishes, Dominica for its un-tampered natural habitat and places like Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago for their styles in music just to name a few. In each of the Caribbean Islands, the people are usually adaptive to their God given resources and try to utilize it to the best of their abilities and this in turn, contributes to the people's way of life and standard of living.
In this episode, the Nature Isle of the Caribbean will have the spotlight of today, via amateur camera. We did not plan to do this but still decided to share our journey with you. Exploring the nature in the Nature Isle of the Caribbean is quite an phenomenal adventure of the outdoors in itself. There will never be a place in the entire world like that of Dominica which is filled with its mountainous ranges, waterfalls, rivers, boiling lake, hot springs, trails and much more. All these can be found on this tiny island only 29 miles long and 16 miles at its widest. What makes the adventures in Dominica fun, apart from the way the natural environment makes you feel is the fact that once you are with your friends and family members, there is absolutely no better surreal feeling. Sometimes, you also get to meet new people along the way and end up making long lasting friendships along the way and this in turn adds to the true definition of human socialization. THE NATURE, PEOPLE oh... and the fun = The experience of a lifetime in paradise. Is there any better?

Part 2

Screws!!! Like the Romans, when in Dominica, do as the Dominicans do...they go screwing and by screwing I mean they go to a place called Screws. The nicest, irie-est, chill-est and most relaxing spot on the island, and the Caribbean by large, is none other than the Screws Spa located in the bottom-center of Dominica called Wotten Waven. Screws Spa is surrounded with a lot of trees which means that there is a lot of oxygen in the area as well. Not only this but the water is sulfuric which has been told to have healing properties. A perfect mixture of sulphur and oxygen adds to, not just a fantastic experience, but also a rejuvenation of the mind and body and brings peace to the natural soul. Seeing this on the video below is one thing but it does not come close to you actually having that experience in person. Just in case you don't believe what I am saying listen to the testimonies of those who are in and have been to the Screws Spa. Hear what they have to say.

Celebration of Gospel Concert 2010

PART ONE

Another highlight within the Caribbean is that of the Celebration of Gospel Concert. It is slightly different to the other Gospel Concerts held in the Caribbean because it was meant to aid in a Fundraiser for the Voice of Life Radio Station. A Christian station found in the Nature Isle of the Caribbean, proclaiming the gospel. I think this was a great move and there were different artists coming from around the Caribbean to perform at this event. Great going you guys.
There were all sorts of acts taking place on that night for the concert and one of the new things I've seen being incorporated into concert is that of interpretive choreography and truth be told it blew my mind as well as those present. Sometimes, when you hear something and you finally get to see it for yourself, it comes out to be totally different and better than your original expectation. The performances within this concert made you jump with excitement but it also made you think. Think about life, purpose and the importance of living. There was also the variation between the traditional gospel music to that of the modern day gospel music. A nice spin to it seeing that it bridged the gap between the young and the not-so-young. The first part of the concert was mixed with traditional gospel music and interpretive choreography. It was a fantastic way to begin the concert and right off the bat, everyone began enjoying themselves.

PART TWO
In part two of the Celebration of Gospel Concert, performances were brought about by the home country, Dominica, by the local artists in this segment. The crowd went wild as they saw it fit in relationship to the type of genre in music that they were accustom to and just to see the reaction of the crowd made you feel like you should have been there! Caribbean people love a good time, especially, when it's under positive music. There is never a dull moment at a Caribbean concert as you will surely see below. Wow! is all that should be said in this segment. Amen

PART THREE
Last Lap! Should have never taken place because the people clearly wanted more. I know I did even thought it was just about 1:30AM. More good time, more positive music, great atmosphere, no ill will taking place just pure 'fellow-shipping' with one another. Feel the power of great music, watch the audience in respond to the artists and what the artists were saying. Turning now to the other Caribbean artists; Marvia Providence was the one solely involved in bridging the gap between the young and the not-so-young through her style in music and Dj Nicholas also brought down the house by doing what he does best to the glory the Creator. It is concerts like these that give you another great reason why you should come to the Caribbean Islands especially Dominica to sing praises and give thanks for life and life more abundantly.

Portsmouth YOUTH Got Talent Show

The only thing that matters in this life, on a practical level, is the use of your God given abilities to showcase to the world who and where you come from. Each and everyone of us has a story that needs to be told and this can only be told through the use of our ability and/or abilities. It is said if you have one ability, don't grudge on others who have more than one, just make good use of the ability that you have and build on it. If you have an ability and you make the personal choice not to put it to good use, you will most likely lose it so let us start using our gifts. We can build ourselves with it and the community by extension. Another key aspect in having gifts is in the ability to elevate those skills but in other to do that one must put in work and lots of practice. Take for example, persons who love to paint. If they stop painting for a while, the sense of touch that they had will deplete and this to me is like losing your gift but if you continue to use it, you will get better at it and that's a fact. We all have been born with different skills and abilities to fend for ourselves. Some are gifted in art while others are gifted in science matters or mathematical calculations and the list goes on. Whatever it is, you should be grateful that you have it and use it to the best of your ability.
Speaking of ability, the Caribbean Islands are laced with great talent and people. However, in some of these Islands, there isn't much of a medium for individuals, especially the young ones, to showcase themselves so they most likely end up quitting. Although, this may be very saddening, but what else can be done? Many have tried and many have failed to succeed because they simply do not have the means. Personally, I believe where there is a will there is a way so remain optimistic. I always keep an optimistic view point that reality has room for me and you. We just have to keep at it and never give up.

I am sure that most, if not all of us, have heard of shows like American Idol, X-Factor, Britain/America Got Talent and so many other events where they showcase talent. In the Caribbean there is something called, 'Digicel Rising Star' that has a similar output to the bigger events held but in the majority of things, only one person can come out victorious. We had persons like Tarina Simon, Dwane Husbands and Christopher Martin who came out victorious in this competition and some are already on their way to the international forums in music. In the bigger events, even though one does not win the competition but he or she still gets the opportunity to do bigger and better things and are given the same opportunities to that of the winner. Jennifer Hudson did not win American Idol but she is a head runner today because of her powerful voice. However, it is different in the Caribbean because only the winner seems to get all the benefits, sometimes. It is for this cause that the N.O.N Promotions' created the Possie Got Talent Show. Taking place in the Portsmouth community, it gave the youth a chance to demonstrate their skills and abilities to their community.
Although there was not any competition of sorts or monetary gain like that of the big shows but, it was a chance to get some exposure and possibly be called to do different gigs amongst the community and neighbouring communities. Different artists, singers and dancers all came out to the Arbeedee Cinema and put on a good show for the crowd gathered. This show definitely brought back some spark to those who neglected their gifts and motivated them to get back on track. Wonderful performances and contributions by the performers of the Talent Show.

GOSPEL EXPLOSION 5

PART ONE

Let's face it, we all like good time. It does not matter where we are from; whether it be from the Caribbean, Japan, United States or Iraq, we all love a good time. A time when we can put away the troubles of life so that we can have some time to free up our minds and unwind, is the greatest gift one can get. I love those times because they allow us us to let loose a lot of stress and it gets us right back on the right track after it is all over- a sense of relief.
The name speaks for itself, it's an EXPLOSION! Although not to be mistake in the destructive form but of a spark that exploded from within starting a chain reaction to go out there to do and continue doing great and positive things. We are often times weary and need that form of encouragement thus that igniting and explosion. It is said even the encourager needs some encouraging so it goes both ways. We should not be weary in well doing says the great book but even Jesus Christ was in need of some encouragement when he realize what he was going to go through for the sake of man. Hey, if Jesus Christ needed it, what makes you think you don't? This is what this concert was about.

This is one of the top events that takes place, in the gospel arena, in the Caribbean and it is called, 'Gospel Explosion Concert'. The name echoes volumes like the after effects of an explosions because this type of concert is indeed an explosion that you cannot afford to miss. On the lines of realness and positivism, different artists around the Caribbean came together to the Nature Island, Dominica, to bring forth a dynamic collaborative performances of different genres and musical styles. We're talking about the cream of the crop, in versatility, ranging from Dancehall to Reggae, from Zouk and unto Bouyon. Gospel in the Caribbean stems from the Caribbean Culture and it is through this means whereby persons express themselves as real individuals thus a Caribbean Party. Not to be carried away with the secular world, but in tact with strong lyrical content and favourable rhythms and riddims to keep you active.
The Fifth Annual Gospel Explosion came with yet another on-set of performances who graciously dominated the stage with the crowd backing them up in pure acceptance and overwhelming joy. The first segment of this Explosive gospel concert was performed by a Dominican group called Brothers of Destiny and a particularly unique Jamaica artist who goes by the name of Ordinary aka Mr. Amen.

PART TWO

Part Two was a double explosion of this Christian Party which means double portion of excitement and deeper meaning added to the theme. The Trinidadian Gospel Soca/Dancehall artist known as, Koen Duncan, left an unforgettable impression that night! As soon as he set foot on that stage and his voice was heard through the speakers, I knew it was a Heroshima that went off. KaBloom! When he started with the old school type theme and made it modern, I could not help but lift my hands and sing along whilst I danced and enjoyed myself. I was not alone and as you will see the crowd's reaction being similar to my own as we jumped! In addition to him came the well known, Carlene Davis out of Jamaica who closed the show with her mixtures in gospel music including rap. She did a magnificent job at that as well.
It is at the ending of the concert when you realize that, Gospel Explosion is a time where everyone is invited under the common purpose of giving God the praise that is due unto him and a time well spent under some great positive music, lyrics and message.
Music Video was also done by Kirk Davis entitled, 'Don't Deny Me' and Kirk Davis and St. Matthew on 'Solution' which had the meaning of putting God first in everything that we do.

Dominican Artiste Conference 2010

Musicians, singers, rappers, painters, sketchers, builders, and all other forms of skilled personnels are all forms of artists in their own special fields. Some of us were born with these unique abilities that enabled us to look at life from a different perspective, while others acquired the skills. What is the next step? The next step on the agenda is to develop them to be used on a more professional level. Don't get me wrong, not everyone wants to use their gifts on a professional level and would rather use them for personal joys but it is still advised that one develops their gifts into something greater. On a business/professional stand point, the world is constantly developing, and in other to keep up with it, you and I must also develop with it. Remaining competitive in each market segment, is part of the rules that need to be taken seriously to be successful.
In the Caribbean, you will find a variety of many talented people doing many wonderful things. Very popular names like Nicki Minaj, Rihanna, Bust Rhymes, Nasio Fontaine, Marie-Claire Giraud, Shalli, among others are amongst those who came from the Caribbean. However, we find a common trend that takes place in some of the islands and that is there isn't a relevant medium or the right set of people available to facilitate individuals who wish to elevate their skills and abilities. If there are, the accessibility is limited. It is always a struggle and some persons simply give up and put their gifts to rest. There is so much that can be done but we find it very hard to push forward. Why is that? Is the right means available to the musicians and artists, are there any help for them, or is this a one man show where persons refuse to help each other so that they can have the upper hand? To reach to that international level sacrifices must be made, egos must be dropped and in terms of finances, it must be reasonable according to the level that we are at. However, this is only my take on the matter.

An 'Artist Meet' was called in the Nature Isle of the Caribbean, Dominica for the Dominican people who have the mindset of making the world a better place through music. At the Alliance Francais, musicians, artists, singers and producers all joined together under one roof to have a discussion on the next possible step that needs to be taken in Dominica and by extension, the music world. Take a listen to what is being said at the Conference Mee and see in what way this could also help you, as an upcoming musician and/or artist. Also music video done by Troy Anthony from Jamaica entitled, 'Next Generation' which signifies that what we do today, will affect the generation to come. We need to set the right standards and principles so that they too can follow suit and pass on the mantle to the generations after them.

Jazz Music with Marie Claire

Oh Jazz, the sweet sound of Jazz music. Where would we be without Jazz? Like seriously. As I think of it, I can actually hear jazz music playing so softly on the airwaves as the singer stands uprightly holding unto her microphone as she utters her first set of vocal notes and lyrical contents. That alone can bring forth the calm thoughtfulness of emotions to light. I have one word, "Wow!" as I sit comfortably in my chair soaking in all of this music emotions. Hmm... I had my eyes close for a bit there as I typed because it brought back great memories to me of that night of the Jazz Music Festival. Jazz is great and Jazz is cool especially to those who truly understand great music. In the Caribbean we are laced with all sorts and types of musical genres and this is as a result of the different mixtures of cultures formed by the different ethnicities and races of people. From Dance-hall to Reggae, Calypso to Bouyon, Hip-hop to Zouk, Candance to Blues and from Soca to Jazz, we have it all. Today we will be partaking in the musical genre and art of Jazz because it is very commonly known amongst all the Caribbean islands. Some of the best Jazz Musicians/Artists come from right here in the Caribbean. Artists like Ernest Ranglin, Marie-Claire Giraud, Hazel Scott, Michel Camilo and Andre Donawa, just to name a few. Jazz is a style of music that relaxes the mind, body and meets with the soul when it is played. The musical accompaniments set this nice, surreal tone to the environment and one can simply sit and bask in all of its glory. It's a wonderful atmosphere as you will see in a while.

The islands in the Caribbean where Jazz music is most commonly played and staged are in Jamaica, St. Croix, Barbados, St. Lucia, Grenada and Trinidad and Tobago. It horizons expanded unto Dominica in this episode through the voice of Marie-Claire Giraud, one of Dominica's very own Jazz/Opera musicians, amongst many others.
Tonight we will be focusing on her and her musical style as an opera singer which, by the way, is quite different to the usual Dominican styles in music which is mainly Calypso, Cadence and Bouyon. Hear what she has to say and take a look at her performance at the Dominican Jazz Festival via amateur camera in Roseau.

What does Be Real Be Positive mean to you?

In other for us to further develop ourselves as persons who portray themselves to be real and positive individuals, we must first find and understand the meanings of the words to apply them to ourselves. You might say that these words are so simple, straightforward and on point that there is no need to do any research but this is sometimes where we go wrong. We may have the idea of what it is but in today's world being real and being positive is a very confusing subject. Most people imitate others so much that they become someone that they are not. When this happens the being real aspect has faded and becomes a blur. So we may think that we know but in reality we most times don't really know what it really is. This is why it is very important to do some research to gain a better understanding of what the words real and positive mean.
Moving from one standard to the other does indeed take some time. We are gaining more insight about ourselves and finding out where we stand. What better way is there to gain a taste of what Being real and being positive is all about but by interviewing persons on their thoughts on the subject matter. We went around the Ross University School of Medicine's Campus in Dominica and asked different individuals to share their thoughts. Although everyone had the essence of what it meant the mixtures in responses within the interviews was something very interesting to listen to. Getting the view points from the very top of the social ladder from Doctors to Vendors, from adults to children, clearly did not matter why? Because they all had the their own tastes and spins on the issue of being real and being positive based on their own perceptions of what they deemed reality to be. This truly is what BrBpTV is all about as you will see. Have a look and please don't forget to Like and Share the page as well. Thanks

BrBp-TV Episode Two -Interviews Part 1

In Episode 3, as seen below, we took to the streets of Portsmouth, Dominica! Yes, for the second part of our BrBpTV Interviews, we headed down into the community of Portsmouth to do a few street shout-outs to hear what the citizens themselves had to say on the issue at hand. We needed their input especially, seeing that they are the ones we will be working with and showcasing on BrBpTV. After the session of interviews done at the Ross University Campus in Picard, Portsmouth, we have learnt a lot. Part of the message that is being portrayed is that there is no set classification that can be roped around to state that a particular behaviour is real and the other behaviours are not. This begs no question to this clear profound fact. The difference between the similar answers is due to how they viewed it based on their walk and experience through life. There is a song that goes, 'Circumstances made me what I am, for I was never born a violent man...' from Buju Banton. Therefore, realness can be defined as the culture that we were raised in that is tampered by our own true internal perceptions of that culture and what we do with it that defines who we really are. Positivity can be defined as making the best possible decision that would bring the best outcome to ones self as well as the people that surround them in their cultural upbringing.

The interviews still aren't over, so let us take another look into what Be real Be positive means according to the citizens of Dominica in Portsmouth. Heading down to Portsmouth was surrounded with a more in depth and local Caribbean feedback which shed some insight as to how the Caribbean people viewed the terminology on a general standing. First Premier BrBpTV EPISODE

We wanted something that could reach out to the masses of all age groups; but more specifically targeting the young people of all different walks, affiliations and experiences of life. The aim is to spread positivity and realism amongst ourselves. It is a known fact that what we, the young people, are exposed to in today's world, is very confusing. I can relate to this confusion because it was a bit hard to figure out where I stood given the amount of pressures stating what I ought to wear or how I should act or what I should become. It is because of these kinds of pressures why most of us find it hard to find who we are. What propagates this even more is when our favorite artists and actors/ actresses further expound on that and we try to be like them. The trends that they set may seem cool to us because we see them as very important persons who make a lot of money and have a status that we hope some day to have, but we forget something very important. We forget that we are just as important as these stars are! We too can also make an impact just as strong or even stronger than our favourites. We may not end up on the media or be as popular as they are but, do not be mistaken that we all have our marks to make in this world for the up and coming generations. All it takes is the zeal, skills, natural born talents and the help of God to place us on the right paths. In other words, 'Being your true selves'. After all, why should we follow someone who has already made it while we hold unto wishful thinkings of being like them? It only takes one burst of energy from a single cell to create a tidal wave reaction of potential positive energy to change our course in life for the better. Did you know that? Let's create our own paths so that others can follow and start doing likewise. Isn't this a great idea or what? I think it definitely is. It is for this cause why, we started BrBpTV. To push realism and positivity through the masses so that they in turn can do the same through their own means and ways.

We are starting of the very first episode as simple as possible in other to ensure that what is being said portrays what we are about to do. Keep in mind that this is the very first time that we are doing something of this nature and like I said, it's the start of making our mark and trend in this world. As we are getting more accustomed to what it entails, we are hoping to grow and elevate until there isn't any further that can be attained. We have an idea of what we are hoping to accomplish but putting it into a well constructive television-like condition is the challenge we face. However, this still does not stop us from creating our first episode.

This is the premier of BrBpTV. In this premier episode we will be shedding some light as to who we are, what we are going to do and also further expound on what our aim and goals that we are hoping to achieve. Being real is about being ourselves and/or being positive is something that we all have chakra-ed within ourselves to have a good and uplifting outcome. We are born with different abilities and obtain unique skills during the coarse of our lives and it is all up to us to utilize it for our betterment and the betterment of the people around us. Sometimes based on where we are, utilizing our gifts does prove to be difficult and frustrating based on external factors. Factors such as the environment, the neighbourhood, our acquaintances and even our close friends and families pose such a threat. Should these factors prove strong willed and stop us from doing what we ought to do in the first place? Of course not because we are the ones who control the outcome(positive thinking). The creating of BrBpTV falls under this conditions because we don't have any help whatsoever to lead us into the right direction but we are going to try with the skills that we have acquired and the abilities that we were born with, through trial and error, we will come out victorious.

Here is the Introduction of BrBpTV which included the first ever music video on BrBpTV. Done by the host of the show, Mystelics called 'Watching Over Me'. It portrays the message that no matter what the circumstances may be, and though we may feel alone in the world based on the paths that we have taken, we are never alone and God is watching over us to see us through. A great meaning that puts everything into perspective that we can come out victorious here at BrBpTV. Take a look at the video below and please like and share to get the word out. Thanks
