Titiri Festival FUN

When we think of Caribbean, Nature and Festival, we think of one place and one place only and that is Dominica. These three things go hand in hand and are the pinnacle of what the Caribbean Isle is truly all about. For persons living overseas, when they think of the Caribbean, they think of festivals, paradise and nice beaches. Well, you are in luck because this is exactly what we will be showing you here today. This is one of the many reasons why the Caribbean is so popular and sort out from around the world. Its uniqueness in festivals also differs vastly from other festivals across the globe and one thing that makes it unique, is its people. Wherever Caribbean people are situated, there is that feel of the Caribbean Culture in the environment of which they are a part of especially when it comes down to festivals. It is said that, it is easy to locate a Caribbean person, at a party, based on how they move and that is very true because we can actually dance! :D


Festivals in the Caribbean range in variations to each and every Caribbean Island and that is influenced by its people and the values in each and every culture. One of the festival that takes place in the Caribbean Island of Dominica on the beach is none other than the Titiri Festival. It is one of the many festivals that is highlighted and this time we are in the community of Layou where it is usually held. It is all about the Titiri. For those who do not know, Titiri is actually small fishes that are usually found in groups known as schools. Like that of any normal fish, persons catch these fishes and use them as food. The creativity of the use of this fishes is why this festival is so important to the people. Why? because you get some really delicious delectables for a small price -Titiri cakes, Titiri ackra, Titiri pudding, Titiri lasagna, Titiri pizza and lots more meals and tasty dishes. These are just some of what I've tasted and let me tell you, they are absolutely phenomenal to the taste buds. Wow! Trust me, everyone wants Titiri and you can tell by the vast amount of people at the event. It's like magic all over again. Believe me the eats are indeed scrumptious let not your heart be despondence. Along the eats, the atmosphere surrounding the Titiri is that of fun and excitement with the riding of ATVs, bikes, Zip-lining, Kayaking,Sports and of course Music. Who knew there could be so much fun surrounding tiny creatures? In the night time, there are live bands playing on a stage created on the beach and everyone comes together to live in the excitement of the time to enjoy good Dominican music. Why is Titiri so important one may ask? Well... have a good look and see.
