Houston Afro-Craibbean Praise Jam is all about giving praise to the Most High for what he has done in our lives. Let us never forget that many of us would not be where we are right now if it wasn't for the grace and mercy of God. I know I can testify that most, if not all, of my life is surrounded by total grace and it is always a good thing to give thanks and praise for that. Even if its to say "Oh" according to Kirk Franklin, an Oh is all you need to give when it comes down to praise if that's all you can do. God deserves our praises so let's give it to him. Featured on the Praise Jam stage was none other than Jermaine Edwards out of Jamaica; Emrand Henry out of St Lucia; Neesha Woodz out of Barbados; J-Cro out of Dominica and lots more, especially the Nigerian and American Family. Joanne Prince was the main organizer of this event and she did a marvelous job to make this, second of its kind, to become a reality. happen

POSITIVE Performs IN MACHOCHERI for AUGUST MONDAY

August Monday is the day celebrated by former British Colonies in regards to the Abolishment of Slavery in 1833 otherwise known as Emancipation Day. Emancipation Day is widely observed in the British West Indies during the first week of August and on that day you can find three things taking place: Partying, Relaxation and Beach Going. According to the Encyclopedia,'Emancipation Day is celebrated in many former British colonies in the Caribbean and areas of the United States on various dates in observance of the emancipation of slaves of African descent. It is also observed in other areas in regard to the abolition of serfdom or other forms of servitude.'


August Monday, first Monday in August, is the day set aside in Dominica to ensure that Dominicans truly feel the experience of being free and freedom and what better place is there to be than this time. No... I am seriously asking this question to you so if you know, please let me know.
Here today in this video we are celebrating Fun Under the Son. Yes folks.. it's Son and not Sun... even though we were turning up under the sun and unto night fall. hehe This event was held at the Machocheri Park in Dominica and the featuring artist of that Concert was none other than, the one and the only Mr. Blessing after Blessing from Trinidad and Tobago. THe Soca-Reggae Artist, whose real name is Joel Murray, lifted up the entire park as he aided in musical composition the artistry of his music. He reminded us yet again that true Emancipation comes from the Son and by Son I mean Jesus Christ. The one who came to die for man kinds fall to redeem us unto himself. Knowing that through the acceptance of God's Son we find true emancipation. This is Positive on the Stage of the Fun Under the Son 2015 Gospel Concert.

Dominica Unashamed Gospel Concert

Unashamed.. unashamed... unashamed. The duty to be unashamed is very, very sad especially when you are obligated to represent someone or something to the best of your abilities and you see mizeh a.k.a fail miserably. Picture this! Your boss wants you to represent the business in a forum that will determine the further development of that business or its potential flop. Now, at mind's thought process, I am sure most of us will try to convince our bosses that this isn't the right job for you. It just might be too much for us to handle right? Ah! Yes... Now you get the picture. Now considering those brave soldiers of the business who feel that there is nothing that will stop them from taking on that challenge so they take on that task. They study, do research and do all what is necessary to ensure that they not only put the business in a favorable light but an outstanding light. If they are successful, the business will move forward and of course there is a huge reward awaiting for that individual. This is what being unashamed really means. To go out there, no matter what the outcome, and putting on the best possible representation to win the heart and minds of the audience. This is what this concert here on BrBpTV was about.


Now I have heard of the international unashamed gospel concert with cats like lecrea, andy mineo, trip lee, flame, tedashii and these other cats tearing up the place under the hip hop anthem. This however is the Caribbean version of that. It took place at LongHouse in Portsmouth and to my own expectations of events happening in Portsmouth was indeed a great experience to be a part of. Organized by the New Light Ministries of Portsmouth to not only show proper representation of God himself and the joy that he gives but to also aid in raising funds for a greater cause than the concert itself. Unity is indeed strength and we had different bands from all over the island to come in to aid in the phenomenal cause. I had a great time at the concert and I know those present also had a phenomenal time. Unashamed of the gospel of Christ and the joy that he brings in the hearts and minds of all those who trust him and believe. Have a look of how it went down that night.

A night of Dancing - Mechowlah

Mechowlah? First time I, myself, am hearing of or seeing such a fantastic-looking, first-time-trying-tongue-twisting word, but one thing is certain, I want to know what that is. In the video below you will get the full gist of it but for those who like to read, I want you to know my take on that name. The first time I heard it, I was taken aback and asked, is this patois? Well... no it's not. Is it french? Nope. Sorry to disappoint. Now it is times like these where google becomes your best friend. Mechowlah *mehk-o-law* as it is pronounced, is a Hebrew word that by itself means to dance with someone. Yet within the context of tonights Mechowlah celebration, the meaning is justly justified out of the Hebrew and/or Greek meaning or songs of praise through a dance or dances. This pretty much sums it up.
There was also a test given in my quest for this Hebrew knowledge and I took the test which I realized I am no Hebrew Scholar with the test scores to prove it. ;)
Anywho, without a further-a-do, this event was headlined by the group called S.A.L.T who featured the phenomenal dance contributions of Ebony Charles, the Shakah Dancers, Charisma, Vessels of Praise, Christa Charles, Rick Francis and the Paix Bouche dance group alongside many others. The Dominican dance groups from around the island came to the Trinity Baptist Church in Roseau to pull off the Mechowlah dance night and believe me when I say, they did a stunning job all throughout. Have a listen to the great talent that Dominican possess to the honor and glory of the Most High. MECHOWLAH!!! Oh how I love this word. hehe.

Blessing after Blessing Concert: Positive

There is something that we all must account for when it comes down to music and that is it's ability to unify. Unity in what aspect or within what realm? It is as simple as counting baby lambs jumping over fences at night time. Okay... maybe not in this format but... think of it as commonality or common ground. I believe it was Martin Luther King Jr as well as the Great Book which gives the relevance, "A people divided against themselves cannot stand". I believe this with all my heart and it is because of this why I believe in hope. There is but one hope and that is in God. In a time where everything may seem to be dwindled within the scopes of negativism and the portrayal of modern day media further helping to instigate it, is not something that aids in the motivation to the right direction. In fact it brings yet further division while the same mediums hypocritical stand as a "Fight to unit the people". In what way? Do you know? Well... I don't.


What I do know is, if you were to believe it or not, we are not ashamed to be different as we further push realness and positivity which is the assembling of unity itself. Speaking about positivity, the Blessing and Blessing Concert has landed on the shores of Dominica. Wondering what it is? Well, of course, we will not leave you in the darkness at all. Positivity to the fullest is the inspiration of the featured artist of the night and he is so motivated, he calls himself, "Positive". He hails from the wonderful islands of Trinidad and Tobago and brags humbly to the cause for which he is named. Joel Murray is the name and he promotes gospel reggae to the maximum. He is known for many songs across the Caribbean. Songs like Highest of Heights, Only in the Ghetto, Let Me Be The One, Never Let Go, Rock of my Life featuring Dj Nicholas and many others. In 2013, he released a single called, 'Blessing after Blessing' and it made the number 1 single across the Caribbean for a number of weeks leading up to the Carnival Season. It has a Soca tune to it(Trinidadian massive stand up) and it will definitely keep you on your toes. Positive came up to Dominica, the Nature Island of the Caribbean, to collaborate on stage with the local artists of Dominica to bring forth one of the best positive concerts for the year 2014 thus far- the Blessing after Blessing Concert. Jermaine Edwards Dominican Concert

Them can't stop we... in today's world, when absolute belief of truth meets what may seem to be of obsolete cause, the people must rise and take it back. Contemporary cause marks the presence of what we deem to be sanctimonious, and it is because of this the people in this episode are so joyous. For the cause of rejoicing is very much alive today as it were 2000 years ago.
Some of you may be thinking, well... what is he talking about right? It's not hard to see when we look on the inside and on the inside we find Christ Jesus the reason King. Many persons don't understand the situations and the hard times that certain people went through and it is because they remain steadfast unto this absolute truth that they are where they are today! A prime example and testimony of this arose from an individual out of Jamaica, known as Jermaine Edwards. He shared the truth that he knows and upon total admonishment to his Creator he rose from the ashes. He gave a bit of his life testimony as he came and ministered in powerful song to the people of Dominica. Wow! We were indeed inspired by this young man because what he had to say that night was meant for us. Never give up on God because he won't ever give up on you.


Preparing the stage for Jermaine Edwards were some of Dominica's finest gospel artists in the game right now and they did put everything into perspective. It was like as if they all read each others mind as they came and delivered great artistry and sound message and we at BrBpTV has brought it to you and all those who could not make it from overseas. One thing that is certain in Dominica is the present hype that the people have in both secular and gospel arenas. Utilizing that energy in the right place calls for absolute reckoning and you will see people giving some serious praise and getting down, down, down according to Sernel! I love it, I absolutely love it and it gave us a great pleasure to be there in the presence of some much hype and celebration. Easter Season 2013: Praise and Worship Concert

Easter bunnies, Easter eggs, Easter bunny man? Where do people come up with these lovely ideas? :) I don't know and if you do, please do share with us here at BrBpTV. We would like to know. Talking about Easter, we here at BrBpTV have one thing that comes to mind and that is love. Love demonstrated on the cross of Calvary many, many years ago for the payment of man's own fall. God sent his son for you and me and all he requires of us his our sincere praise and worship. We don't deserve this kind of love but he did it anyway. It is indeed the cause for this Easter Season where we remember the death, burial and resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Many times we fall short as human beings because none of us are perfect even though some of us may think that we are based on our status and levels given by man. But do not be fooled none is perfect and the Creator knows and sees all yet within his own choosing choses to forgive us when we ask for forgiveness. He tarries with us in the good times and in bad times, never leaving his children alone. We know we can't make it on our own.


Often times we have been in situations that we knew that there was no way out and all of a sudden a miracle took place and all our troubles were lost. Isn't this something to be thankful for? What did we do to deserve such grace and mercy? Nothing but his love had mercy on us and that is why we are here today. To bring to you the Praise and Worship Concert in total adoration to the one who came to die for us and rose again. He is not dead any more. Oh no! He is risen and what better way is there than to sing from the heart and soul unto the one who created the heavens and the earth. Here at the Arawak House of Culture, in Dominica we bring to you the Praise and Worship Concert 2013 featuring the powerful and talented vocalist Jodie Andrew of Dominica featuring the one and only Breve Band out of Dominica as well. Atta Boafo - Hungry to Worship Concert

It is not everyday, or even on a monthly basis for that matter, you hear of or see someone all the way from Africa, coming to the Caribbean to different performances. If you have? I surely haven't and I think this in itself would be an expensive task to venture! None the less, when the tires hit the road and purpose and vision are seen, there is absolutely nothing, in this world, that should prevent this powerful driving force. I got three words for y'all: Nothing Else Matters. There is indeed a need to be fulfilled for pure worship and fellowship amongst brethren and one way in which this can be done is through the exchange of talent, culture and God's given gift and anointing in ministry.
There is a thirst that needs to be quenched and a belly that needs the abundance of food lest we fall weary and faint. I know some of you love food but this is not about the physical foods like dasheen and tanya(ground provisions) but that of the spiritual food.


In this case it is renewed worship unto the Creator of the heaven and the earth. We need each others fellowship to rekindle the true worship we owe to God for his countless mercies and blessings that he has bestowed upon us. Music ministry, of course, is vital in doing so and on a personal note, The musical complementaries of Africa has a taste that runs deep into the heart and soul of any man. The mother of all motherlands does justice to music and stage performances: The way they sing, the beating of the drums; oh man! it is absolutely perfect and here today, we have a few of these individuals coming to the Nature Isle of the Caribbean to bless us and enrich us with this powerful style of music in live performances. One of the songs that took Dominica by storm, was a song called, 'Double Double by Atta Boafo. Sometimes, we are so hungry to do great things that we pray God gives us a double portion of his blessings so that we can do greater things in our own ministry and ministries involving pure worship. However, do not be mistaken, double, double is not for everyone because the bible also states that God never gives a man more than what he can bare. To someone of us having double can be too much to bare so God chooses to give us the right amount.

It is indeed what we do with what we have that most times, makes the difference as we come to realize how much doubles God has already blessed us with. ;) None the less, let us be truthful in our worship to God and let the double portion of the blessings of God flow in like the rivers of ancient Babylon. P.S. This to me, is the best concert of which I have been to for the year 2012; and we all know I have been to many, many concerts and bear witness to many performances.

Be Transformed Part 2 Concert

What do we know, first-hand, about this life that we live? This question beacons the very thirst for the true meaning and purpose of our very existence. Does the stakes of not knowing far out-weight the stakes of knowing our purposes here on this earth? Many have tried to gain such answers through all sorts of means but many have failed. But to the very few who have found the answer, they find it hard to share with others. Why is this you may ask? Because sometimes, the truth can be something that is very hard to swallow and therefore they seek after other truths that can never be found. This concert is all about the few who have found their purpose in this life. They're coming together as a unit to create transformation in this concert. A cause to the renewal of the mind, body and soul. Joining up with this team was the presence of those who try to further spread that same profound message every where they go. Coming all the way from the Bahamian Islands of the Caribbean, Mr. Lynx, a well known gospel musical sensation in the Caribbean, hits the Old Mill Cultural Center concert stage in Canefield, Dominica; alongside his Soca-tuned musical specialist and artist brethren, Que from Trinidad and Tobago. What a night this was at the concert and this could have only been the touch of an angel when these artists hit the concert stage along side the local Dominican gospel performances and musical geniuses. Now this is where things truly started to heat up and if I do say so myself, the hard food source of the concert; the dasheen and tanya. Here, you will start to see what real, true Dominicans are made of under some great, positive musical performances. Be Transformed Part 2 just took another correct turn for the better and the crowd is in complete acknowledgement of that fact. Starting with the wonderful performances and then heating things up in the second set could have probably been planned and if not, it was done perfectly. I felt like I was at an event that should be seen as a front liner of an international concert. Wow!!! Everyone is standing steadfast to what is going on and they are having a blast with the gospel artists that presented themselves in representation to Transformation. Some persons may not understand what they are about to see but be sure that when you are transformed, eyes will be opened as well. There is nothing but joy when one has been found in this family and although ups and downs will come our way, we will have each others' backs. After what you have just witness, can this concert get any better than this? I, honestly, did not think that it could get any better than this but Oh how fortunately mistaken I was because it did. This is the last part of the show and, of course, as you will clearly see the people did not want the concert to end. I mean these people have a lot of energy! I too was riding that bandwagon. Speaking of bandwagon, it was so good, a train line of persons was formed at the event, demonstrating how great this gospel concert was. The time at present was around 2:00 in the morning, and no one was tired. We still wanted more and more we got indeed. This part from what I gathered based on the theme title, 'Be Transformed, meant the beginning of the end, which just opened up into a new beginning in each and everyone of us. In other words, a new birth, a new transformation; a new creature. You see, it's not just about having fun and jumping up to the rhythmic sounds of the music but the TRUE transformation that has been made internally that causes the joy that you see. People ask what is the difference between secular concerts and gospel concerts? Well, isn't it clear enough to see that gospel concerts have way more joy and excitement than that of a secular concert?

There is purpose, there is understanding and it brings victory that there is hope for you and me in Christ Jesus. Now, ask yourself this question, "why is that?" and then compare the two and realize that it's only transformation(a renewal of the heart through Jesus) that can cause true joy and happiness.

Take Authority Concert

Like that of the Against All Odds and Be Transformed Concerts, the words, 'Take Authority' speaks solely for its self. We have a problem as youth especially in the Caribbean. We often times cry out for change to take place yet we sit down hoping that the older ones will do it. What we really don't realize is the fact that we are the ones who will be taking over the mantle and if we sit idly by waiting for someone else to do the job that we ought to do, then the future will surely be one of a saddened state. The point of duty is now, not later, but at this hour. Let us make that move especially for the Kingdom of God against the forces of darkness. We are called as a people to make change take place and whether we like it or not, change will take place. The difference is will that change be of a positive nature or of a negative nature? According to Martin Luther who said that we must become the change we want to see. We must take on that leadership role and create impact on society.


This Concert was a motivation to persons, especially the youth, to push themselves despite their physical limitations because nothing is impossible. Not only in the physical aspect of life but more importantly, the spiritual. Taking authority means step up to the mantle and taking the leadership role, taking charge and grabbing the necessary steps needed to cause a positive chain reaction. Leaders should arise and become the head runners in whatever they do so that they in turn can affect others to step up and take responsibility. We have often heard that some person were born leaders, well this is not so. No one is born a leader. We must learn the process first and as we get older we make the choice so there it's a choice. The choice is whether we choose to make that bold step or allow someone else to lead us. Press on and take charge for we are the salt of the earth. Be Transformed Gospel Concert

Who are we in this world? Why are here in the first place if we were meant to only live and die? Come to think of it, do we live to die? It would seem so unless there is another way. I really believe that there is more to life than just living and dying. Come on, we are not like the dogs and pigs of this world who live to serve us(think of it). The world in itself has a usual pattern that we have been programmed to follow. From our very birth, we have been taught to do things that would help condition us to be able to make it in this world. We are programmed to go to school, earn degrees and receive a level of education that is comfortable. Then we put into practice this knowledge as we  learn hands on skills that enables us to work in a work environment to gain money to buy what we need and want. We are able to start families, have children, grow old and move on from this life. Of course, I left out other details in between but this is pretty much how the trend goes for each and every human being. If this is what life is all about then life is a routine that we all are doing in different ways. Which makes life, in itself, have absolutely no meaning and I don't want to be a part of this at all. I think this is why there is so much chaos and violence in this world today because a man or woman without purpose will have no respect for their own life and yours as well. So taking another man's life is means nothing to them and this is what shatters my very being! I believe that there is more to life and we have purpose. It is only when we have found purpose we can be transformed. The transformation that I am speaking of is not that of the external but of the internal. We have all been placed on this earth to do something that will cause transformation to take place both externally and internally.  Externally for the world to see and internally for the spirit to connect with the Creator. Transformation that involves change and the renewing of the mind, body and soul. This is where we go into the deeper, philosophical aspect of life and the need for purpose. Many great philosophers have pondered on what our purpose is and have found many reasons based on the external standpoint but only a few have found internal purpose. I as an individual have found my purpose both externally and internally and I feel absolutely complete with myself.


We are here at the ArrBeeDee Cinema bringing to you a concert called, 'Be Transformed'. Why is this concert so important to what I am saying here? It is important because it is through the inspiration of events like these where we able to find our true purpose here on earth.  I found mine but it is only up to you to find who you are and why you have purpose. Right there on stage purpose was found and we could not let this opportunity slip away to let the world know of it. It is all internal and it is a personal thing when we are able to finally connect to our Creator. Have a look at the joy associated with the transformation that I speak off because when a man or woman who find transformation, the entire congregation and heavenly hosts rejoices.

Part 2

In other to change, one has to start with themselves and realize that they need to change. Change starts from within and there change must come from a change in mind set and to do this, one must seek the help of God. No one can change on their own, especially when you have been living a pattern for quite some time but when God steps in,  you can never remain the same again.

In the second part Jasper from Antigua took the stage first then Que from Trinidad, then St .Matthew from Jamaica and in the Finale, Sernel Florent took down the house. Talk about a combination of Caribbean Islands coming together to push the movement of transformation towards that greater good of man kind. Wow!

Against All Odds P1 Concert

Why must we put our fate in the hands of the oppressors? Don't we realize that we, ourselves, are more than conquerors through him that has set us free? Free from our captives, yet we act as if we are slaves to them. Let us not be confused that once we have been set free, we have been set free indeed. Free to do what free people do and that is to live free from bondage. God is the one who sent his son to die on a cross so that we could be set freed but sometimes, the enemy tries to rope us back in by placing different obstacles in front of us. When this happens we become scared and fall a part. This is not the end of the world for God gave us that strength to conquer the unconquerable. The impossible has been made possible through Christ and like Mohammed Ali, the boxer stated, "float like a butterfly sting like a bee." We are the ones that need to be untouchable and unstoppable. Sometimes, we forget that and this is why we are here today at the Against All Odds Concert ministry. This concert was meant to defy every negative thing that would come against us and becoming aware of our new found statuses in the eyes of man and most importantly, the eyes of God. We got a blessing from this concert as it reminded us of God's absolute blessing upon us. As one of the group stated in our own local tongue, "We doh want no sprinkle, We want a dash!" A dash of what? A dash of hope, a dash of positive change, a dash of enlightenment, a dash of love and a dash of unshackling fear in our land. Various groups came together to spread that message in song at this fundraiser and it was a night to remember. Part 2

First 2011 Gospel Concert in Bawi

As the year ends and the new year begins, many people view it as the starting off, of new things to come. There is the feeling of starting over and putting away bad habits to start afresh. Nothing is wrong with that because at that time, persons try to straighten up their lives and right the wrongs of the previous year. Down with the old and in with new is the usual new year's way of thinking or New Year's Resolution. New aspirations are sketched out and promises are made to be fulfilled by the end of the year. The question is will they keep their promises though? That is the question many people already know the answer to because the promises have already been broken sadly. At least they tried right? Let's just hope the others can still keep the promises that they made to themselves.
Many persons also try to make it right with God for the New Years, so what better way is there than to start off the year with a Gospel Concert. Held on the Salisbury Court in Dominica, God was brought to the fore-front of the stage in praises and worship. As persons tried to seek God's face to guide them through 2011, shouts and joyful noise were given, Caribbean style of course. It is so true that God has seen us through the year of 2010 and now that we are in 2011, what is left to do is to at least show appreciation and thanksgiving unto God for seeing us through. Many persons did not get to see the new year (R.I.P Macneal) so we are greatly in debt for the life that we have been given abundantly so far. Salisbury and neighbouring communities came together to sing praises and celebration unto God and ask for his favours, unwavering love and guidance throughout the new year. It was a celebration even through the blessing of the rainfall. Nothing can stop Dominican people from having a good time under some good powerful music and worship. Thank God for that!

PART 2

This part is all about more good music and a greater feeling of appreciation for something as simple as life. The musicians combined together in satisfaction to the international standards brought about by each respective individual acting as a unit. Notice as well that the crowd follows on in unison with the bands. Beyond definitely stepped out and brought down the court yards while The God Sent Team rocked as if there was no tomorrow. As you continue to watch, it gets even better and it shows that when God is in the midst, everything is possible so give thanks.

All White Christian Party Concert 2010

Along the lines of good, positive music and phenomenal exhibitions of great Caribbean musical talents and performances, there can only be one word that suitable for what you are about to see and this word is Excitement. Why Excitement? because there is great reason for it and you will find out what the reason is while watching the webisodes below. Here in the Caribbean Island of Dominica, the people pride themselves in exciting events especially around the scope of positivity at its very best. One will never be let down when it comes down to Caribbean music but when it comes down to Christian music and concerts, most people think that it is just a simple event. Too many times we are given the notion that this theme of music does not contain the necessities for a successful concert and that I mean also having a great time. This is wrong in so many ways why? because one, this is the Caribbean we are talking about here and two, this is the island of good time.
Christians have a reason to be happy and a reason to shout out to God in pure harmony as the people come together in one accord. This right here is a party that you and your friends should all be a part of. Make no mistake though that what you are about to see is a party unlike any other. Under the guidelines of Christianity, Caribbean music is used to worship God. Different cultures have different ways in which they worship God but it is through the sincerity of their hearts God hears their worship. The bible say worship God in spirit and in truth and that means that we ought to worship God in the way that he gave us and this is what this party is all about. Under the name of 'All White Party', white signifying purity. We are not pure by our own actions because we are all sinners but through the blood of Jesus, we have been cleansed and our stains have been cleaned, so clean that it is whiter than snow.
The different talents contributed by their God given gifts in collaborative efforts with fashion is what you shall witness and this is just a taste of what went down on that night. Logos Hope, the Floating Book Store in Dominica

PART ONE
Have you ever heard of a boat that actually floats on water?! Why sure you have!
The Caribbean is no stranger to Cruise Ships lines and other sea vessels that bring tourists, foreign goods and services into the countries, that aid in creating revenue for both sides(the ships' crew and the countrymen and women). However, have you ever heard of a floating library? Be honest, most of you have not and this is the main reason why we are here today. I, personally, have never heard of such a thing until it came to the shores of Dominica. The Floating Library that I am speaking of surely is not of a building, but that of boats that serves in the purpose of a library. In other words, they carry books and act like a book store or library. These boats travel the globe bringing literature materials to different countries in hope to expand the horizon of literacy, especially to regions that do not necessarily have easy access to it. These group of boats that I speak of, fall under the name of The Logos and they set out on different routes, at different times to sell books.

The staff on board the big boat completely comprises of voluntary workers who leave their jobs, families and homes to join up with, sometimes, complete strangers, who are all about the same mission statement- spreading literature. They not only love books, but also have something that is very much in common to each other and that is their love for Jesus Christ. They view traveling on the Logos Hope, as an opportunity to minister and to spread the love of God to people who may or may not have heard of the gospel of Jesus Christ. The Logos teams organizes different local events, such as concerts, movies, and so on both on board the ship as well as on land. They do this to further enhance a more interactive relationship with the local people by mingling, sharing and exchanging cultural backgrounds and understandings.
Every four years, one of the Logos ships travel to the Caribbean and this time around, they came to the beautiful Island of Dominica. That ship is called the Logos Hope. On board the ship, we were bombarded with a wide range of great book authors and a great variety in categories such as adventure books, history books, fictional and non-fictional books, and so forth. I mean every where you turned, there was something that you would find interesting in. Even though you were not a person that likes to read, there would be a book or two that would grab your attention. I am one of those persons who do not really fancy books but, I left with about four of them. :) My favorite part of the Logos Hope was the music section though. Yes, they also have a wide variety of music selections and genres there, especially under the gospel music section. Ranging from Hip Hop for all the hip-hop music lovers, to rock music and then down to R&B, Pop, and the list goes on.

If you do not realize this by now, the Logos hope is a Christian-boat book store that sheds light on Jesus Christ while at the same time bringing new forms of literature, including the bible, all over the world. The Logos Hope comes equipped with persons who have dedicated their lives and time to servitude and as they termed it, "Bring Hope to a dying world."
The Logos Hope docked in Roseau and on one of their nights there, they held a grand concert on the shores known as The Bay Front. The performances brought about by the Dominican people shared some light on the Dominican culture to the foreigners and likewise the Logos Hope crew shared their different cultural backgrounds with the locals. PART TWO
The Continuation of the Logos Hope went in-depth with the performances and sharing of both the Caribbean people and the Logos Hope crew. Finding out what Logos Hope was all about and why individuals chose to volunteer to work on board the ship was very interesting and motivating. Sometimes, we tend to dedicate our lives to things that don't really worth much or hold much substance but there are times when people step out of their comfort zone to do the greater good for the human race and this is something worth dying for. They also try to assist different places by building houses or other infrastructures to aid persons who are in need of some assistance. An interview was also done with one of the managers of Logos Hope and the Mayor of Roseau on the preceding of the night.

Celebration of Gospel Concert 2010

PART ONE

Another highlight within the Caribbean is that of the Celebration of Gospel Concert. It is slightly different to the other Gospel Concerts held in the Caribbean because it was meant to aid in a Fundraiser for the Voice of Life Radio Station. A Christian station found in the Nature Isle of the Caribbean, proclaiming the gospel. I think this was a great move and there were different artists coming from around the Caribbean to perform at this event. Great going you guys.
There were all sorts of acts taking place on that night for the concert and one of the new things I've seen being incorporated into concert is that of interpretive choreography and truth be told it blew my mind as well as those present. Sometimes, when you hear something and you finally get to see it for yourself, it comes out to be totally different and better than your original expectation. The performances within this concert made you jump with excitement but it also made you think. Think about life, purpose and the importance of living. There was also the variation between the traditional gospel music to that of the modern day gospel music. A nice spin to it seeing that it bridged the gap between the young and the not-so-young. The first part of the concert was mixed with traditional gospel music and interpretive choreography. It was a fantastic way to begin the concert and right off the bat, everyone began enjoying themselves.

PART TWO
In part two of the Celebration of Gospel Concert, performances were brought about by the home country, Dominica, by the local artists in this segment. The crowd went wild as they saw it fit in relationship to the type of genre in music that they were accustom to and just to see the reaction of the crowd made you feel like you should have been there! Caribbean people love a good time, especially, when it's under positive music. There is never a dull moment at a Caribbean concert as you will surely see below. Wow! is all that should be said in this segment. Amen

Last Lap! Should have never taken place because the people clearly wanted more. I know I did even thought it was just about 1:30AM. More good time, more positive music, great atmosphere, no ill will taking place just pure 'fellow-shipping' with one another. Feel the power of great music, watch the audience in respond to the artists and what the artists were saying. Turning now to the other Caribbean artists; Marvia Providence was the one solely involved in bridging the gap between the young and the not-so-young through her style in music and Dj Nicholas also brought down the house by doing what he does best to the glory the Creator. It is concerts like these that give you another great reason why you should come to the Caribbean Islands especially Dominica to sing praises and give thanks for life and life more abundantly.

GOSPEL EXPLOSION 5

PART ONE

Let's face it, we all like good time. It does not matter where we are from; whether it be from the Caribbean, Japan, United States or Iraq, we all love a good time. A time when we can put away the troubles of life so that we can have some time to free up our minds and unwind, is the greatest gift one can get. I love those times because they allow us us to let loose a lot of stress and it gets us right back on the right track after it is all over- a sense of relief.
The name speaks for itself, it's an EXPLOSION! Although not to be mistake in the destructive form but of a spark that exploded from within starting a chain reaction to go out there to do and continue doing great and positive things. We are often times weary and need that form of encouragement thus that igniting and explosion. It is said even the encourager needs some encouraging so it goes both ways. We should not be weary in well doing says the great book but even Jesus Christ was in need of some encouragement when he realize what he was going to go through for the sake of man. Hey, if Jesus Christ needed it, what makes you think you don't? This is what this concert was about.

This is one of the top events that takes place, in the gospel arena, in the Caribbean and it is called, 'Gospel Explosion Concert'. The name echoes volumes like the after effects of an explosions because this type of concert is indeed an explosion that you cannot afford to miss. On the lines of realness and positivism, different artists around the Caribbean came together to the Nature Island, Dominica, to bring forth a dynamic collaborative performances of different genres and musical styles. We're talking about the cream of the crop, in versatility, ranging from Dancehall to Reggae, from Zouk and unto Bouyon. Gospel in the Caribbean stems from the Caribbean Culture and it is through this means whereby persons express themselves as real individuals thus a Caribbean Party. Not to be carried away with the secular world, but in tact with strong lyrical content and favourable rhythms and riddims to keep you active.
The Fifth Annual Gospel Explosion came with yet another on-set of performances who graciously dominated the stage with the crowd backing them up in pure acceptance and overwhelming joy. The first segment of this Explosive gospel concert was performed by a Dominican group called Brothers of Destiny and a particularly unique Jamaica artist who goes by the name of Ordinary aka Mr. Amen.




PART TWO

Part Two was a double explosion of this Christian Party which means double portion of excitement and deeper meaning added to the theme. The Trinidadian Gospel Soca/Dancehall artist known as, Koen Duncan, left an unforgettable impression that night! As soon as he set foot on that stage and his voice was heard through the speakers, I knew it was a Heroshima that went off. KaBloom! When he started with the old school type theme and made it modern, I could not help but lift my hands and sing along whilst I danced and enjoyed myself. I was not alone and as you will see the crowd's reaction being similar to my own as we jumped! In addition to him came the well known, Carlene Davis out of Jamaica who closed the show with her mixtures in gospel music including rap. She did a magnificent job at that as well.
It is at the ending of the concert when you realize that, Gospel Explosion is a time where everyone is invited under the common purpose of giving God the praise that is due unto him and a time well spent under some great positive music, lyrics and message.
Music Video was also done by Kirk Davis entitled, 'Don't Deny Me' and Kirk Davis and St. Matthew on 'Solution' which had the meaning of putting God first in everything that we do.
