World Creole Music Festival Friday

World Creole Music Festival? What is that you may ask? For those who don't know let us get down into the nitty gritty of things. First of all the World Creole Music Festival falls pretty much in the best of the year. WHy is that? Simply because it's during the Creole Season of course and in my opinion(I'm sure many of you share the same sentiments), it is a time where Creole forms under the theme of unity. Unity being the ideal aspect of the Creole Season which by the way leads up to the Independence Season, another fantastic time of the year. You see? I told you it is the best time of the year. :) The mere fact that you are thinking about creole, you think of mixture and it is a time where everyone settles out their difference and comes together in unity to enjoy life and the freedom that comes with it. If you don't believe me ask anyone in Dominica. Yes, Dominica is where it is at during the month of October and of course persons from all over the globe flock towards Dominica during that time. Maybe now you get a picture of how important this event and time means to us. It's a celebration of true freedom, mixture, colors, food and of course music which brings us here today.

The World Creole Music Festival also known as WCMF, indeed has to be the highest form of entertainment in Dominica for the festival Season and in part the rest of the Caribbean. This is an event that runs for 3 days during the last weekend of October after the whole week event of the well known Creole in the Park. The creole of music, or should I say, the mixture in music brings to the Dominican shores various artists of Caribbean decent from the international, regional and local walks. This year celebrates the 17th WCMF 2013 and the theme said was the promotion of our Dominican local acts.. of course accompanied by the well known heads in music both from the international and regional spectrum. The Episode that you are about to see it nothing short but of wonder and excitement and persons coming together of different race, background, place, and language. You might think, "...but wait, how it is possible to have some many persons coming together and they don't share the same culture?" Well my friends, brothers and sisters, music is a universal language and spoken by the artists present it is clear to see that the gap amongst these variations, was no match and an easy bridge to gap. After all, Creole does mean mixture and in this mixture here at the first night of the World Creole Music Festival 2013, we find complete unity. But...:) Don't take my word for it. See for yourself.

Q Talent Search - Round One

QTS TALENT SEARCH! The Fourth Edition of this event taking place! I am sure that most of you guys have heard of talent search programs like American Idol, X-factor, Britain's Got Talent or to bring it even closer home, Digicel's Rising Star, where persons from different walks of life go head to head in competitive mood to see who will emerge the victor who takes home the grand prize. It is programs like these that help, make or break individuals as it shuffles out the weaker ones while the best rises to the top. The same thing applies to the competition that the Q-95 Radio Station in partnership with LIME, has to offer in Dominica. Yes, a small island in the Caribbean, between two french islands has taken it upon itself to help find some of the wonderful talent that Dominica has to offer. The Q-Talent Search 2013 is the fourth one of its kind taking place and this is the finale.

The event started somewhere around March of 2013, where individuals would call into the radio station and sing a rendition and get judged on it. Later down, those who made it pass the call-in section would then go to an audition where they would sing in front of some judges while the persons listening over the radio had to vote on whole they thought the best persons were, or simply their favorite via texting. After there would be the semi-finals and then the finals. BrBpTV today is bringing to you the Finals competition! Yes! the grand finale of the competition which took almost 7 months to come to its final conclusion. The winner, or should I say the best of the best or the winner of all these winners will be selected and the bragging rights with everything else it comes with will be taken. The first person to ever win a competition of this sought goes by the name of Asher Thomas from Paix Bouche in 2010. Then we had Shamica Sorhaindo of Roseau in 2011 and the present champ Rachel Jno Baptiste of Goodwill in 2012. Who will be the Q-Talent Search Champion of 2013? Find out as we bring to you Round One of the QTS Final 2013 Competition.

Jermaine Edwards Dominican Concert

Them can't stop we... in today's world, when absolute belief of truth meets what may seem to be of obsolete cause, the people must rise and take it back. Contemporary cause marks the presence of what we deem to be sanctimonious, and it is because of this the people in this episode are so joyous. For the cause of rejoicing is very much alive today as it were 2000 years ago.
Some of you may be thinking, well... what is he talking about right? It's not hard to see when we look on the inside and on the inside we find Christ Jesus the reason King. Many persons don't understand the situations and the hard times that certain people went through and it is because they remain steadfast unto this absolute truth that they are where they are today! A prime example and testimony of this arose from an individual out of Jamaica, known as Jermaine Edwards. He shared the truth that he knows and upon total admonishment to his Creator he rose from the ashes. He gave a bit of his life testimony as he came and ministered in powerful song to the people of Dominica. Wow! We were indeed inspired by this young man because what he had to say that night was meant for us. Never give up on God because he won't ever give up on you.

Preparing the stage for Jermaine Edwards were some of Dominica's finest gospel artists in the game right now and they did put everything into perspective. It was like as if they all read each others mind as they came and delivered great artistry and sound message and we at BrBpTV has brought it to you and all those who could not make it from overseas. One thing that is certain in Dominica is the present hype that the people have in both secular and gospel arenas. Utilizing that energy in the right place calls for absolute reckoning and you will see people giving some serious praise and getting down, down, down according to Sernel! I love it, I absolutely love it and it gave us a great pleasure to be there in the presence of some much hype and celebration. Please, sit back and/or even dance, when needs be, as we, BrBpTV, bring to you the Jermaine Edwards Dominican Gospel Concert.

Dorney Park Adventures Rides Edition

And of course, the Adventure does continue and should not end!!! Well... that's the way I feel about it because we had so much fun that day. As most of you saw, in the previous episode, where we showcased our adventures on the different water slides that we were able to go on at WildWater Kingdom in Dorney Park, there is also the ride section! Yes! and the good thing is you pay only one price and you get the full package. Talking about the full package for all our viewers and readers out there who plan to go to the park, there is a little secret in going to the park and of course I will share it with you. :) The secret to the park is the timing that you go there. Now if you go to the park after 5PM you will pay much less than paying for it online. However, the only turn to that is, the water park shuts down around 6-6:30 if my memory serves me right but the roller coasters are there to be handled for much longer. That's the secret however, if you want to ensure you go on all the water rides then going a bit earlier would be ideal.

Back to our topic, The rides section is filled with roller coasters, ferry-wheels, turbines and lots more that are just too numerous for me to mention. Dorney Park is such a wonderful place because we got to do it all in one day. The thrill and that of the imagination, the rides gave an anticipation that should make you a bi nervous, in a good way, because you are always uncertain of what to expect. I went on previous rides like these at Six Flags Great Adventures but the nervousness of each drop, twirl and each twist still gives you a little fright and of course that's what makes it so much fun. Living life on the edge... the edge of yoru seats that is. In my mind, I thought I had it covered and when we went on the Hydra the Revenge roller coaster, that pretty much changed. HaHa... and as you will see in a few moments of watching this episode, I clearly was a bit... excited on that particular roller coaster ride.

I'm giving you guys first hand experience of what it looks like to be on these rides and of course you will share with me as we share with you the adventures we took. I must say thank God for the people he made who made and developed the GoPro. It captured the shots wonderfully! I had the GoPro Hero 3 strapped to my chest and therefore you will get to see what I saw. Hearing the different feedback from my friends who were with me at the Amusement Park also helped to reiterate the enjoyment and thrill that I've said so far. Do have a look at our adventure

Dorney Park Adventures Part One - Water Slides Edition

Often times, we, as Dominicans, have heard of the great adventures taking place overseas due to what is being advertised on television and one of those great adventures take place in Dorney Park, Allentown Pennsylvania. Now, don't get me wrong, we as Dominicans are not to unfamiliar with these things because a few years ago, Coney Island came to Dominica to give us a little understanding of what these types of adventures entail but on a wider scale, we(those who haven't been overseas as yet) mainly get to see it on television or on the internet. Of course, we, BrBpTV, are always dedicated to bringing you all different activities involving Dominicans on island and Dominicans abroad. There is a saying that goes, "When in Rome, do as the Romans do right?" Well, we're not really into that. :) When in Rome, we Dominicans do as the Dominicans do and that is to come together to do what? To do something that we are not accustomed to do when we are in Dominica.
So... we are taking it to the United States! In 2011, I went with some friends to SIX FLAGS GREAT ADVENTURES in New Jersey, but this time I teamed up with a few more people who live in the United States and Canada, to do the famous Dorney Park in Pennsylvania. This was was quite different from the other and if you ask me to make a comparison between the both of them? Dorney Park takes it hands down!!! Yes, we got to go to mroe rides and to different departments of the Park(both the water park section and the rides section). Teaming up with your fellow Dominican in a different land is always ideal for me and I sure all my fellow Dominica massive at large would agree. In this Webisode of Episode, we will be focusing on the Water Slide Section of the Adventure and showcasing to you at first hand experience of what it really feels like to be on these things. Dorney Park is my new favorite place for these kinds of adventures and until something proves to be better, then this is it for me. :) Do enjoy your first part of the Dorney Park Adventures, The Water Slides Edition. Next Week we will be bringing to you the Dorney Park Rides Edition so also look out for it when it happens.

The Revolution - Fight for Portsmouth - Land Dispute

It is indeed one thing to hold steadfast to the principles and guidelines of a system that our leaders have put in place to guide us verses the complete disregard of the governing laws of the land set to manipulate and/or even destroy. But what happens when this system turns against itself in total disregard to a just and fair outcome for the people themselves? What would you do in this situation? This question has plague many individuals, especially the minds of the younger generation, and have decided that within their own strengths to do something about it. To often has the governing system failed the people especially when they, the people, put all their faith in it hoping for betterment. Well, for the past 70 years... yes SEVENTY YEARS support has been made, given and teased upon by the people of Portsmouth, particularly Glanvillia, in this regard in hope that the governing body that they put to govern them yet... if you ask them what has been done for the development, majority will say not much or as most that we've talked to would say, "Nothing".
The young people have decided that enough is enough and because of their unity to the elder folks revolution has begun. The cause of the matter at hand is of great concern not only for the people of Glanvillia but for the people of Portsmouth as well. No longer will they be bombarded with scared thoughts of knowing or forming the realization in belief, that this is how things are and will never change.

BrBpTV brings to you an upcoming revolution that begs 'just tyranny' of this system. Like in the case of George Zimmerman verses Trayvon Martin, when the people seek justice they expect to get it. Will this be another unjust move by the governing system or will true justice finally prevail. Let us take a look and give a close ear to the issue that gave rise to this upcoming revolution as the people would put it. We, at BrBpTV, believe in the power of the people and when it comes down to betterment of the people there is nothing more positive and real about that.

Graduation Ceremony - Sunflower Pre-School/ Kindergarten

To many people, including myself, graduation may seem to be just another day where persons dress up in gowns, or in dresses as I term it to be, to pick up pieces of paper then get on in their lives in the up and coming days. Very True indeed! However, although this approach may indeed hold some weight, when individuals graduate, this process signifies way more than that. Graduation is an attainment of the necessary qualities and skills needed to move on and upward to another level in life. What do I mean by that? Considering the hard work, teaching and the level of training that took place, enabling the mind to release its chakras to better cope with life and what it has to offer is but the foundation of life in itself. To each level attained, to each goal reached and to each obstacle covered and overcome, meeting the requirements for graduation means that one has completed the course and is now qualified to move on to the next level.
Here today, we have the graduation ceremony of the little ones. Yes, the little ones are also part of the growing economy who will be contributing vastly to the changing and modernizing society. Therefore, they too ought to be taught how to handle the next level in their lives. Seeing the parents watch their children on stage singing the national anthem, acting, singing and even telling wonderful stories and laughable jokes would make any parent or guardian greatly honored and proud.
It means that they are on the right track and growing into these powerhouses of the near future thus continuing the legacy of progress and development of our country. These individuals that you are seeing here are our future. We are looking at the future right now. :)
Taking place in Portsmouth, Dominica, BrBpTV brings to you the Sunflower Pre-School/ Kindergarten Graduation Ceremony of 2013.

Jazz & Creole Festival in Dominica

Jazz... oh Jazz, where have you been? Obviously, it is about time you showed up yet again to the doors of the Portsmouth historical arena- The Cabrits National Park. Surely, we have not seen your face since last year this time around and have greatly missed you like that of a 'go-pwell' in its initial stages. :) Oh but a tangled web but here you are again and we are here to bask into your rhythmic grace. Your powerful melodies and pure intellectual insight does but many things but more importantly, brings persons from all over the land, and by extension the Caribbean, together as one. Jazz music, creole music is no stranger to the Caribbean population and has been digging its pipes into the hearts of the younger generation! What a positive role model you are and we are BrBpTV would like to say how much we appreciate you.

The sweet aroma of the wind instruments, the vibration on the percussion and of course the plucking and tucking of the string instruments are but music of its own! But! What is a Callaloo or a cantaloupe soup without without some juice to wash it down? The vocals of the powerful Caribbean Artists on display here today are none other than Michele Henderson of Dominica, Monty Alexander of Jamaica and the Haitian born, Beethova Obas, all made it to grace the stage of the Jazz & Creole Festival. In addition, the event also brought to the stage none other than local female vocalists, Joy Stoute, Mel-C, and Tiffany Mayne who all did mind blowing performances in addition to the steel pan group known as the Phase 5 band. Nothing but greatness hit the stage starting from 2:00PM going all through the evening up until minutes after 11:00PM. Take a look at the main features of the evening and be bombarded with the soothing sounds of Jazz and Creole.

Easter Season 2013: Praise and Worship Concert

Easter bunnies, Easter eggs, Easter bunny man? Where do people come up with these lovely ideas? :) I don't know and if you do, please do share with us here at BrBpTV. We would like to know. Talking about Easter, we here at BrBpTV have one thing that comes to mind and that is love. Love demonstrated on the cross of Calvary many, many years ago for the payment of man's own fall. God sent his son for you and me and all he requires of us his our sincere praise and worship. We don't deserve this kind of love but he did it anyway. It is indeed the cause for this Easter Season where we remember the death, burial and resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Many times we fall short as human beings because none of us are perfect even though some of us may think that we are based on our status and levels given by man. But do not be fooled none is perfect and the Creator knows and sees all yet within his own choosing choses to forgive us when we ask for forgiveness. He tarries with us in the good times and in bad times, never leaving his children alone. We know we can't make it on our own.

Often times we have been in situations that we knew that there was no way out and all of a sudden a miracle took place and all our troubles were lost. Isn't this something to be thankful for? What did we do to deserve such grace and mercy? Nothing but his love had mercy on us and that is why we are here today. To bring to you the Praise and Worship Concert in total adoration to the one who came to die for us and rose again. He is not dead any more. Oh no! He is risen and what better way is there than to sing from the heart and soul unto the one who created the heavens and the earth. Here at the Arawak House of Culture, in Dominica we bring to you the Praise and Worship Concert 2013 featuring the powerful and talented vocalist Jodie Andrew of Dominica featuring the one and only Breve Band out of Dominica as well. Do enjoy the Episode below and we trust that you are blessed. Remember who the son of man has set free, is free indeed.

Miss Dominica Queen Show Pageant

Out of all the beautiful women that Dominica has birthed, we must come to the abrupt conclusion that we have MOST of the finest women that can be located across the Caribbean Region. However don't be fooled by beauty, while the unforgiving stigma on beauty states that beauty does not come with brains. Ah but au contraire mes amis to popular belief, what you are about to see is indeed beauty, brains and most assuredly, phenomenal talent at its best! Yes, believe me when I say, Dominica has the full package and we, Dominicans, pride ourselves in our outstanding beauty as the Nature Isle of the Caribbean; Not only in our curvaceousness in body 'Waiti Kubuli' but in our people's uniqueness as well.
Seven beautiful... no... seven phenomenally talented, Nature Isle goddesses take to the stage as they compete against each other vying for the title of Miss Dominica 2013! It is indeed another Carnival Season and, of course, there is much need for the rebirth of this competition. Who will take this title? Only God knows for the new year has brought a new crop of beauty from the emergence of last year with the reigning Carnival Queen, Nadira Lando who conquered the 2012 stage in the Miss Dominica and Miss Caribbean World, whilst also taking the crown as Miss Jaycees in Antigua! Previously, Miss Marcia Baptiste (2010) as well as Miss Marah Walters (2008) and Nakita Bruno (2006) also took the crown in their respective years as Miss Dominica and also in the Miss Caribbean World Competition! All of which are born and bred in none other than the Nature Isle of the Caribbean, Dominica. I told you that Dominica has the full package. ;)
I can only imagine what these wonderful ladies must have gone through to bring sure power and dynamics to their stage performances. It takes guts to do what these ladies have done and I must say I am proud of all of them. To me, everyone is a winner but unfortunately, only one can wear the crown. There is so much more that I want to utter but as in the words of the greats gone, "but the show... must go on." Feast and fasten your eyes upon the clip below.
