November 3rd is the Independence Day of the small Caribbean island known as Dominica in the Caribbean Region. Dominica, also known as the Nature Isle of the Caribbean celebrated it's 39th year of Independence under the leadership of the Hon. Roosevelt Skerrit, the prime minister of Dominica. Unfortunately for that small but passionate island, that is deeply routed in its Creole culture, Hurricane Maria passed through the island just a few months ago(September 18th to be exact), and literally wiped clean what was known as the Nature Isle! Devastation in the extent of 95% of the island itself was destroyed and there were no trees, fruits and normal living untouched by this category 5 hurricane. Two years prior, a tropical storm named Erica also swept through the beautiful island bringing destructive rainfall and flooding that literally changed the course of its look. Many persons died in these natural disasters but through it all the Dominica people remain strong and steadfast. Twice beaten but not defeated and as clearly seen here today, Dominica is still on its feet. Shaken? yes but still standing. So as we celebrate our 39th independence, may we remain strong and aim to push forward as we rebuild back our nation.
Dominica Independence Day takes place on November 3rd and on that day there's a big display of march styles in celebration of DOminica's Independence. This year, however, the march pass styles were dwindled due to what Hurricane Maria did to the island of Dominica leaving it for much rebuilding to take place. The Dominican people present still enjoyed the Independence March display at the Windsor Park Sports Stadium. The National Day Parade 2017 of Dominica was very much well represented by patriotic Dominicans from all over the country and world by extension. Below is the March Pass put on display so... do enjoy
Experiencing Real people doing positive things in their communities through Nature, Culture, Individualism, Events and Entertainment; all coming from the Caribbean Islands especially Dominica.

PENVILLE FIVE WHO LOST THEIR LIVES IN DOMINICA @BrBpTV STREET SHOUT
One of the greatest burdens to bear in this life is that of sudden death. Why does death, unbeknown to itself, have to walk into people's life forcing us into great sadden and sometimes even deep depression. Yes, I understand that death is a part of the living but why do we have to go? Why can't we enjoy to fulfilment of life and what it has to offer before we finally agree that enough is enough? Unfortunately, reality is far from my own silly imagination and wishes. This is why I always advocate that we should always be prepared for death because death has no friend or family member. If it did... I would make sure no one I know dies because I know what it is like to lose so many people; friends, family and acquaintances over the years, and today I lost another friend. He is part of the Penville Five and goes by the name Chris Marcellin. Just the eerie shock of hearing one of your close classmates die, after seeing him just 2 weeks prior in a concert, no words can be uttered. I remember that night in Grandbay, where individuals from all over the Caribbean decended on the last night of The Summer Camp for Chris's last concert. Man did we have fun that night under some glorious live positive music... not realizing that a few days later he would be gone. I tell you! Hmm... Not, however, discounting the other 4 young men who were also vibrant, full of potential, members of their village known as Penville.
These individuals that we speak off today, came from their village feast and were on their way home only to have found themselves in a bit of a pickle that resulted in their vehicle plunging over a precipice! That day changed the entire outcome of not just their friends and families but the whole country by extension. As one individual said in the street shout, "five too many". We would like to send our condolences to the friends and family and wish God's speed in this time of need. This is what some individuals had to say on the incident. Have a look below.

NEESHA WOODS from Barbados IN DOMINICA YOUTH FEST 2017
What happens when Caribbean Islands come together to have fun during the summer? This does!
What happens when different people, from all works of life, come together? This does! What happens when the Caribbean lands in the Commonwealth of Dominica? Anything possible and I mean this with no apology. Considering I represent Dominica everywhere I go, I also like to see others representing their country in Dominica. For this cause we have a summer camp. Not just any summer camp but a summer camp that seeks to give honor and praise to the Creator of the Heaven and Earth all under fun and self building(both physically and spiritually). It's such a sad thing when something great starts, it will eventually come to an end and this is where this Episode comes in.
For the likes of Neesha Woodz, the soca gospel artist, who brings with her rhythms that will make you get off your feet and dance. With the likes of Dominica's very own Sernel, the bouyon gospel artist, who will make you leap from your seat with these high tension riddims from the nature isle, all in honor of the Music Creator and last but not least the likes of Excellency, the dominican-bajan artist, who started it all out. Dominica, the land of the rainforests and Sisserou parrots hosted these individuals in the South of Dominica known as Grand Bay and ended this Caribbean Summer camp with a bang. Have a look at what went down. Also do check out the Behind the Scenes Vlog of this very concert as well.

WHO WILL WIN NBA FINALS 2017? GSW VS CAVS @BrBpTV Street Shout
Let's skip to the chase! I am not one to sit around to mop on who will win and who will lose. Anytime.... and I mean ANYTIME... anytime GSW aka Golden State Warriors is playing, the other side has to lose. I believe in GSW and I want them to win every single game there is in basketball. For those of you who don't realize yet... I am A GSW fan hehe so me going out in the streets of NYC, is to find other GSW fans... lol okay I really wanted to see what persons thought of the game and which side they were backing. Last year GSW was up 3 to 1 and CAVS came back and won the last 4 games taking the finals. Surely, Lebron James and Kyrie Irving had a huge task ahead of them and they, with their other team members, literally destroyed Golden State Warriors in 2016.
This year, GSW has been winning consistently and just lost to CAVS in the previous game bringing things back to how they were in 2016, a 3, 1 toss up in favor of the Golden State Warriors. So we took it to the streets to see who felt a repeat would happen or Golden State Warriors would finally take back the trophy. This is what they streets of New York City had to say on the NBA finals 2017 between Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers.

WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT MALE ROMPERS?@BrbpTV NYC Street Shout
There is a not so common but climbing trend in society where the very "many(few)" seem to think that gender is a made phenomenon of society and that this shouldn't be at all. In schools today, kids are being taught that a man isn't a man and a woman isn't... in fact... a woman. Stranger things have happened i'm sure. Those in "power" who is deemed to be "smarter" than the average joe, because of money, seem to be trying to twist common sense into incontrovertible nonsensical dogma. Take for example, sight! Those with eyes to see let them see right? NO! That's what they are telling you. What you see isn't real and what is real is really in the mind. This is what brings us to our segment here today. Male Rompers! Taking women's clothes and trying to make it applicable to men.
Now the funny thing about this "fashion trend" is that it is entitled MALE Rompers while the very people who claim male and female is a mental thing, are classifying it which means that they know what they are doing to push this agenda. Well... it is absolute rubbish in my books and a man should wear what is for men and a woman for woman. This is my take on this "male" rompers scenario but let us take it to the streets of New York to hear what persons have to say on the male rompers. I pray God this nonsense doesn't catch on.

DOMINICAN THOUGHTS ON THE NEW BRIDGE BUILT IN ROSEAU @BrBpTV Street Shout
Excitement as i've come to realize is very relative. Usually, people get excited for the birth of a new child; for a family member or friend who has graduated into another stage in life; for someone who has beaten cancer; but for a bridge though? *side eye* Now, don't get me wrong, I think development is a good thing and it's the duty of those in power to ensure that the citizens are given the best possible outcome in projects done but here me out. How does building a new bridge create such excitement whereby there becomes what seems to be somewhat of a second session of carnival for the year? It's just a bridge... Moreover, was the previous bridge in such a bad state that it had to be replaced? No... believe it or not the previous bridge was very much useful and in a good state and the only reason why the new bridge was built, was to enhance the look of the Capital city. Outside of that... what's the excitement? I believe, if you pay taxes for road building, these things should happen right or wrong? and thus the excitement level should be just in approval because this is what should be done. Or are we at a stage here in the Caribbean where even building bridges are seen as an accomplishment? Take a listen to what the audience has to say about it.

MAN ALMOST LOSES HIS HEAD IN DOMESTIC SQUABBLE... @BrBpTV Street Shout
Domestic Squabbles are a-usual thing everywhere around the world today, and no matter how many preventative measures have been put in place, nothing seems to curb it. Usually these disputes happen due to a great deal of misunderstanding and misinformation. Why is this you may ask? Well, we believe that it has a lot to do with ego, pride and personal thoughts on matters. Take for example a situation that happened in my past; I've had people try to fight me for things that I've never done! Crazy right? I know!!! I didn't mind though... I liked to fight back then anyway. :p But this was due to the hearsay of yet another misinformed individual who misinformed yet another individual and ended in squabbles. You know there is a saying that goes to the effect that, words passed through time... changes; yet we human beings don't seem to learn this. There is an exercise that we use to do when we were pre-teens and every time we did this exercise, the results would always be the same. Let's take 20 people and place them in a single line... then whisper the phrase, "I like to eat porridge in the morning" in the ear of the 1st person and tell them to pass it on. One hundred percent of the time you will get a different phrase by the end of the 20th person. You may end up with phrases like, "I like to pour rain in the mornings" or even go as far as "I like to poke grains in the morning". heheh This is why it is always important to fact check and make certain of information before making decisions that could cost you life imprisonment or even your life.
This situation here today, has a lot to do with misunderstanding and taking and making drastic decisions that almost made an individual lose his head and a pregnant lady... her baby. For this cause, we BrBpTV went out to find what persons had to say about the incident and to find ways in which these situations could be prevented. Have a look. :)

MAN GETS SERIOUSLY HEARTBROKEN @BRBPTV STREET SHOUT
What happens when you really love someone? And I am speaking about really, really, REALLY loving someone and hoping that this person loves you the same and, if you are lucky and blessed, even more. So you treat this person with the uttermost respect and love and try to give them what you think they would need and want, depending on if you can afford it. Then all of a sudden this person, who you are head over heels for, seemingly drops you like a bag of hot potatoes and goes about their merry way? Not only that, but that person willfully puts your "dirty laundry of begging" out there for the public to see? What would you do in this situation?
This is where we, BrBpTV, come in and upon hearing of such a travesty, we went out into the public to see what could be done in light of this present situation and what advice can be given to persons who seem struck by this high level type of cupidness on a daily basis? Love, my friends, is a very delicate and interesting emotion and as you will hear in this BrBpTV Street Shout Interview, we believe that it should not be taken for granted.
The man here today, is in serious pain because he feels he has done his very best to make his girlfriend happy; sacrificing his time and money to ensure that she has a fighting chance at life. Upon being somewhat successful at that, the woman he loves then leaves him to continue her own path in life. This is how it went down and what persons had to say on the issue.

Dominica SERNEL performs his 2017 HIT ATTENTION
God is good, all the time and All the time, God is still Good. Amen and Amen to that but let me draw your attention to something. If God is good to you and me... shouldn't we give me all the glory and praise that is due unto him? Why yes... I do believe it should be so... unless I am wrong and you know this to be untrue, then please do let me know. But I believe where God has given us life and breathe it is our responsibility to do so. And this is why I believe Sernel has brought us here today. Bringing to our attention what needs to be brought and that is the truth. Sernel speaks so in his new release song; and you guessed it, 'Attention'. This is the very first time he is going to perform this song and we at BrBpTV were there to ensure that justice was given to his performance.
Sernel not only fused contemporary art in music but speaks the truth that has been told from centuries ago in his music. Talk about bridging the old with the new right? But this still doesn't change the message that what's true is still true. God lives, he reigns and its time for us to take heed to what Sernel has to say in his new fire song called 'Attention'.

Dominica Youth Against Crime and Violence
One thing that must be made known of is the fact that the youth are trying their best to improve and prove their worth and that is something that must be capitalized upon. The youth are our future and what happens now determines what the future will look like. There should be no greater joy when we see others coming up to find solutions for the short comings that take place in our societies. Crime, Violence and Bullying are some of the many societal ills, especially within our schools, and it is imperative that we learn to nip these problems in the butt before they get out of hand. What better way is there than to help solve these problems but with the youth themselves who take on the initiatives to come up with scenarios and plays whereby these problems can now have a face. Led by Ms Valerie Honore, a movement for the empowerment of youth against crime and violence was created and conducted. Different schools from around the Nature Isle were brought in to focus on what needs to be done to prevent and deter future problems of crime amongst their peers.
Ms. Honore is the founder of Dominica's Youth Volunteer Network and she and her crew conducted this successful conference which went on for a number of days. This was one of the days we were able to take part in and from our viewpoint, we can say that there is great hope for the youth. Have a look at some of what took place at the conference in Roseau and if possible do share so others themselves can see and make the necessary adjustments for a brighter future.

DOMINICA CALYPSO FINALS SHOW 2017
You know who my favorite calypsonian is? No... let me rephrase this... Do you know who is the best Calypsonian in the Caribbean to date and is loved by everyone? He is from Dominica! The 8 time winning Calypso King of the world goes to King Dice!!! I love the king's music and his songwriter, Mr Aaron, does him justice! There is just something about the beauty of two individuals coming together to do something that they love and seeing the works of it manifest itself in such a fashion that the crowd or audience listening, no matter great or small, can definitely relate. Whether it be to the Lyrics or to the Talent itself. Everyone loves King Dice and he is back again to try to gain his 9th Calypso Title! I pray God that he gets it because this man has worked hard and I believe it's only fair but... the judges decision is final so no matter who wins I know that to topple the King... you have to come good.
Taking place in Carnival City in Dominica at the Pottersville Savannah Park, is the Calypso King Competition. Now Calypso is known all across the Caribbean and I think it is one of the first set of music to really make the people come together in unity and celebration. Calypso speaks on issues that take place in communities and dare I say speaks on the solutions. Calypso also speaks on the play of words which may hold double meanings which most of the times will make you laugh because you know what the artist and writers are trying to portray! Haha! It's fun and I love it and I believe this is one of the reasons why we love King Dice so much. Not that we don't love the other competitors, they too are great but we love the King. Another one I enjoyed was the one known as BooPlay. He, however, won't be at this year's competition due to his untimely passing. He sang a song last year called Air and this was one of the songs that placed Booplay in the top 4 finalists. May he rest in Peace. Now without a further a do, fierce competition in Carnival City and only one can wear that crown. Will it be King Dice Again or will he be Dethroned by one of the other talented Calypsonians this year. Do enjoy this year's Calypso Finals Episode Above.

MISS DOMINICA NATIONAL QUEEN SHOW PAGEANT 2017
Miss Dominica National Queen Show Pageant 2017 took place in Carnival City for the Carnival Season and for those of you who don't know this is at the Pottersville Savannah grounds near Roseau, Dominica. Surely, this is one of Dominica's most prestigious and rewarding shows where a number of wonderful, talented and full of energy women come to show why they have what it takes to take the Caribbean by storm. Why do I say this? Well... other than the fact that the winner of the competition now has the potential to vy for the Miss Universe title like Miss Leslassa Amour-Shillingford did and/or to compete against other phenomenally talented Caribbean women, I'd have to say that the stakes are very, very high. This year 7 talented Dominica women were ready for the challenge and will put nothing but their best foot, shoes, clothes, style and talent on the line to bag that coveted title of Miss Dominica 2017. So you know this competition will have you on your toes and dare I say Twinky toes if you cannot handle the firece competition amongst these women. TO me everyone is a winner.
The ladies vying for Miss Dominica 2017 are Karla Henry from Mahaut; Zethra Baron from Fond St. Jean; Gabriel Abraham from Upper Goodwill; Terisa Lewis from Bath Estate; Ketisha Joseph from Massacre; Esther Francis from Goodwill and Jade Romain from Gutter Village. The Former Queen and reigning Miss Dominica 2016 is Tasia Floissac. She will then hand the winner of this competition the crown and the new Miss Dominica 2017 will be Queen. Do enjoy the Episode above!
